A new marketing campaign has been launched to promote Singapore as a value-for-money destination for international travellers.
Travel Biz Monitor reports that the campaign ’2009 reasons to meet in Singapore’ has been launched by the Singapore Tourism Board to draw business visitors to Singapore with a range of deals and promotions on attractions, accommodation, leisure and meeting venues. 25 major hotels in Singapore are participating in the promotion, with deals such as four nights for the price of three and discounts on spa treatments and dining provided for business travellers who bring their partners along.
Business travellers attending MICE events in Singapore until December 2009 can also benefit from the City Advantage promotion, which offers exclusive deals on dining and retail opportunities in addition to health and wellness treatments.
Singapore is already a popular destination for business travellers from India, and the Singapore Tourism Board’s regional area director Jessica Sim is confident that the campaign will encourage even more travel from this significant market.
Ms Sim states: “We expect the City Advantage Tag to further increase the MICE arrivals from India. With Singapore’s proximity and the hassle free arrangements, the island nation is already a favourite MICE destination amongst Indian corporates. We are confident that with the added benefits of the City Advantage Tag, Indian corporates will choose Singapore for their off site needs.”
The ’2009 reasons to meet in Singapore’ campaign is expected to provide a significant boost to the local economy by encouraging business travellers to hold meetings in Singapore venues and provide further revenue to local restaurants and retail outlets, encouraged by the range of promotions.
