A new advertising campaign targeted at British holidaymakers aims to promote Las Vegas as a value-for-money destination for exciting holidays, with some of the world’s top tourist attractions and events.
Beat The Brochure reports that the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority is promoting a range of new attractions in the entertainment capital, which include a musical tribute to Elvis by Cirque de Soleil and major sporting events. Las Vegas will host the upcoming NASCAR race tournament as well as the USA rugby sevens tournament, which will play at the Sam Boyd Stadium. Las Vegas won the right to host the popular tournament in 2010, which was previously held in Carson, Los Angeles.
Another tourist attraction currently drawing international visitors to Las Vegas is the balloon ride over the Las Vegas strip. Up to 30 passengers at a time can take a 10 to 15 minute trip in the world’s largest land-tethered helium balloon above the city’s dazzling sights.
The advertising campaign is set to debut in the UK in December, and has been allocated $1.5 million (£915,000) to promote Las Vegas attractions and improve tourism to the area, by demonstrating the great deals that can be found on holidays in Las Vegas for British tourists despite the recession.
The tourism authority’s president, Rossi Ralenkotter, explained: “We need to keep our message up and running. The theme of the campaign will be the excitement of the destination and it will be targeted at adults.”
