The western US state of Colorado – teeming with the picturesque peaks of the Rocky Mountain range – has seen an influx of visitors looking for adventure on holiday this year, with many exploring the area around the metropolis of Denver in 2010.

Work begins on first ‘World’ villa in Dubai

Holidaymakers looking for a little German flavour while traipsing along a sunny, sandy beach in summer or winter will soon have their wishes fulfilled, as the first villa of The World project – ‘Germany’ – has commenced construction in Dubai.

The World has been an ambitious land reclamation project similar in scope to Dubai’s famed Palm enclaves, though its islands form a rough atlas of the globe instead of tree boughs and fronds. All the city’s innovative engineering projects have been a hit with those on holidays in Dubai.

Looking for a sun-soaked beach getaway to make the most of the British weather? A recent survey has revealed it’s still cheaper to book a holiday in Turkey or Bulgaria this summer.

Tesco Travel Money has recently released figures comparing several European beach destinations and the costs associated with them. Of the fourteen coastal cities polled, Brighton – the popular channel destination – fell in the middle of costly holidays.

Pride London street party given green light

After concerns that the popular Pride Day celebrations in London‘s Soho area might be forced to cancel due to roadworks, the events have been given the go-ahead by Westminster City Council to take place on Saturday 3 July as planned.

Pride London is the UK’s biggest festival dedicated to the LGBT community, and the charity-run event attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors on London breaks each summer, to take part in its well-policed street parties.

Chinese Terracotta Army set to invade Stockholm this summer

Trekking halfway across the world to set upon the shores of Stockholm in Sweden, figures similar to the famous Chinese Terracotta Army in the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor will be displayed in – or rather, under – the city at the end of August.

Gatwick announces £1 billion redevelopment for airport facilities

Looking to provide “a world-class welcome for passengers”, London Gatwick International Airport has outlined a number of improvements and new facilities to those taking flights to London from elsewhere in the UK and abroad.

The works will see an inter-terminal shuttle installed, which starts operation this July, as well as a multimillion pound addition to the airport’s North Terminal to greet international visitors to London.
