The Egyptian resort destination of Sharm el Sheikh – located on the Red Sea – has become rightly known as a popular destination for clear, sunny skies and golden-sand beaches, but according to one travel writer, that’s not all the outpost in North Africa is good for.

“There is no getting away from the fact that Sharm, as it is known, is unapologetically brash and glitzy, rising like its dazzling Middle Eastern cousin Dubai from the desert,” Sebastian Lander wrote for the Daily Mail. “But that’s not the end of the story.”

Destinations across the European continent will likely gain a little more lustre over the next year, as prices have been reported to be falling throughout European nations. British tourists stand specifically to benefit, as sterling has strengthened against the euro.
