The southern US state of Florida – a popular choice for beach holidays in the country – may be the most romantic state in the union, according to a recent listing supplied by Amazon.
With no doubt the state offers miles upon miles of beach front, from the Gulf of Mexico to the Atlantic Coast, Amazon reasoned several of its cities ranked among the most romantic in the USA, in addition to Miami ranking as the Sexiest City in America, possibly due to its luxurious beaches and extravagant nightlife, but also its sexual wellness.
However, a city can also be family friendly while retaining a romantic allure, as indicated by Orlando ranking number three on the top-twenty list of romantic destinations, one notch above Miami. Gainesville and Tallahassee, home of the University of Florida and the state’s capital city, respectively, also ranked in the top ten.
Amazon compiled the listings from the sales of romance novels and books on relationships through its website, as well as romantic comedy films and sexual wellness products since 1 January 2011, limiting its selections to cities with over 100,000 residents.
For those who might want to get their hearts racing for other reasons, the Grand Prix of Miami will also take place 5 March 2011, with tickets recently released to the general public. The race will be held at the Homestead-Miami Speedway and features a 2.3 mile road course as part of the Grand-Am campaign for 2011.
