Holidaymakers have yet another reason to visit the Caribbean island nation of St Lucia – if the golden beaches and crystal clear waters weren’t enough – as one of the island’s resorts has been named the World’s Leading Spa by Conde Nast Traveller magazine.
The Conde Nast Traveller awards were held recently at the Corinthia Hotel at Whitehall Place in London, with tourist organisations of all types as well as from destinations all over the world, representing their home territories.
Nominees for the world’s best spas, as nominated by the readers of Conde Nast Traveller magazine, included hotel spas, spa retreats, day spas and thermal spas, with The BodyHoliday at LeSport in St Lucia topping the list for overseas destinations.
The election propelled the BodyHoliday into the World’s Top 25 Spas as compiled by the magazine as well, landing at number three worldwide.
“This is a major victory for the team,” marketing director for The BodyHoliday Andrew Barnard said. “While service delivery is a critical part of the team’s success, winning awards affirms what they already know. The BodyHoliday, LeSport continues to deliver on its promise – give us your body for a week and we’ll give you back your mind.”
Other overseas spas listed in the World’s Top 25, as compiled by Conde Nast Traveller magazine, include The Spa at the Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris, and the spa at La Mamounia in Marrakech, Morocco, an emerging travel destination in North Africa.
