Honeymoon won’t be the end of the road for royal newlyweds’ travels

The honeymoon may be on hold, but the speculation of just where the happy couple will holiday is still rife, with original favourite Kenya falling to 7/2 at the bookies, as reported by the Mirror.

William Hill odds show the Caribbean has emerged as the new favourite, with odds of 8/15. The other potential destination of Jordan has also slipped down, reduced to odds of 5/1.

However, for the newly titled Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the honeymoon will not be the only trip abroad in the next year or so. Despite wanting to keep the official engagements down to a minimum for the next few months, their star quality will mean they will be in demand, especially during the Royal Jubilee next year.

Talking to the Sun, a palace source said: “Demand for William and Catherine is expected to go through the roof following the incredible reaction to their wedding. They are keen to settle into married life and only plan the minimum of official engagements.”

“But the Jubilee is different. Next year is major for the Royal Family and William and Catherine are keen to play their part in it.”

The happy couple will be making a royal visit to both Canada and the United States this July. Next year at least one senior royal will visit Australia and New Zealand, and with the Queen celebrating her 85th birthday last month, Prince William and his new wife may be called upon to undertake the trip.
