National Museum of Scotland Wins Architecture Awards

One of the most popular tourist attractions in Edinburgh has been recognised by the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland and the Royal Institute of British Architects.

The National Museum of Scotland beat out 71 other submissions for the two accolades, which recognised the museum with both an RIAS and RIAB award. The distinction comes shortly after the museum was presented with the Doolan award, naming it the Best Building in Scotland.

Short-haul Holidays Increase as Britons Shun Staycations

Travellers and holidaymakers in Britain are casting their nets a little wider when planning vacations, shunning the ‘staycation’ in favour of European destinations like Nice, Ibiza and Milan.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) reported 29.6 million Britons holidayed in Europe last year, a 3 per cent increase from 2010. The jump marks the end of a rising trend – the staycation – as travellers take advantage of the weak euro and tire of holidaying close to home.

I lavori di ristrutturazione dal valore di 450.000 $ (363.850 €) sono iniziati la scorsa settimana e proseguiranno fino a novembre.
